About Residence Les Balcons

Located in the heart of one of the biggest ski areas in the world, The Three Valleys, Residence les Balcons sits in a quiet neighbourhood just outside the resort centre of Val Thorens. These apartments provide comfort and privacy for your winter holiday and all have picturesque views of the valley and surrounding snowy peaks. 

A fantastic choice for families 

Due to their quiet location, these apartments are a great choice for families. Cots and high chairs are available upon request, free of charge, and there is also a children's pool available - a good way of keeping the children entertained after a day on the slopes. 

Sit back and relax

Head over to the spa and wellness area for a moment of relaxation. Over 600m², Residence les Balcons spa area provides you with an indoor heated swimming pool with amazing views of the valley, a sauna, hammam and a fitness room. Access to these facilities is included so you can really make the most of recharging after an active day but if you'd prefer a massage or treatment, there are 2 spas where these services can be requested and paid for locally.

The Residence les Balcons apartments are offered on a self-catering board basis and provide you with a fully equipped kitchenette and supermarket within the residence building.

There is also a restaurant on site - L'Auberge - that serves savoy and Italian specialities. If you opt for half board then your meals will take place in this restaurant. Breakfast is served from 7:30 - 10am. Dinner is a set menu that has a starter, main and dessert, and this is served from 6:30 - 9:30pm.

Alternatively, we've partnered up with Huski who provide premium oven ready meals across the French Alps. Huski will deliver your meals directly to your accommodation in time for your arrival, all you'll have to do is cook. If you'd like to know more, please click here for further details.

Two bedroom apartments sleep two to six people and are around 52m². These apartments have two twin bedrooms and a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. There is also a bathroom with hydrotherapy tub, a separate shower room and a balcony. 

Three bedroom apartments sleep three to eight people and are around 72m². These apartments have three twin bedrooms and a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. There is also a bathroom with hydrotherapy tub, a shower room, two separate toilets and a balcony. 

Beds are made on arrival apart from sofa beds. An end of stay clean is included except the kitchen. One linen set with towels is included per person, per week.

Discover Val Thorens

At an altitude of 2,300m, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and as part of the huge Three Valleys area, it is undoubtedly one of the very best. The resort has been designed to offer doorstep skiing from practically wherever you stay and has a village feel around a compact centre - where car access is restricted. The height of the resort means skiing in Val Thorens consists of long hours of sunshine, an unrivalled snow record and great skiing for all grades.

Things to do in Val Thorens

Tobogganing

The longest toboggan run in France can be found at the Cosmojet Toboggan run, accessible via the Péclet funitel. It takes about 45 minutes to run the roughly 6 kilometres to the bottom.

As well as the swimming pool and wellness facilities, the complex has a range of sports courts and a fitness area with body building facilities. There is also a soft play area for the children which includes giant trampolines, slides, rope bridges and a ball pit. Payable locally.

If you would prefer to experience the mountain by foot, there are plenty of paths to follow. The sentier de la Marine is a relatively easy walk of around 5km, starting at Chalet du Cosmojet you will be met with fantastic views across the snowy landscape.

Have you ever wanted to stay on the mountain after last lifts? Every Friday you can enjoy the Tête Ronde and Christine runs in Péclet sector until 6.30pm. It is free of charge for guests with a valid Val Thorens/ Orelle ski pass.

Take to new heights and have a go at the La Bee zip line at the top of the Moutiere chairlift. This adrenaline filled zip line is suitable for children over the age of 14. Height restrictions apply. Pay locally.

The Tyrolienne du Bouchet is the highest zipline in Europe giving you the chance to whizz through the incredible mountain scenery. Located at the top of the Bouchet chairlift. Pay locally.

Snake Gliss (sledge train to you and me) is where sledges are tied together, led by a professional instructor and whizzing down the 45 minute descent from the top of Funitel de Péclet. 

For a bit of evening entertainment head to the resorts bowling centre, where there are eight lanes for bowling, a pool table and a variety of games including a football table. 

Ride your own snowmobile, or with a passenger and follow your guide on a tour around the unspoilt winter landscapes around Val Thorens. Book and pay locally.
