San Cassiano is a delightful village in the Alta Badia area of the Dolomites, well positioned between La Villa and Cortina, and close to Armentarola, with its famous horse-drawn ski-lift! A stunning array of dramatic Dolomite peaks provides an unforgettable backdrop to the incredible 1,200km of varied skiing, which is easily accessible from the resort’s main Piz Sorega gondola.

San Cassiano has easy access to the legendary Sella Ronda circuit and wider Dolomiti Superski area, so you can enjoy venturing out towards the surrounding areas of the Val Gardena, Arabba, and Val di Fassa with a Dolomiti Superski lift pass.  The highlight of San Cassiano is definitely a trip to the ski run from Lagazuoi and through the hidden valley, there's also a good mix of slopes in the Alta Badia local area, from cruisy blues in Colfosco to challenging black runs in La Villa.

There is a lovely range of restaurants dotted around San Cassiano, you can enjoy typical Ladino dishes, pizzas and even a Michelin-starred restaurant. So much so, it's worth checking the Michelin guide before you travel as you are truly spoilt for choice across the full Alta Badia region. Up on the slopes there are plenty of cosy mountain huts, perfect for a warming hot chocolate or a long lunch in the sun.

Before calling it a day on the slopes, many skiers make a final stop at the lively Las Vegas Lodge. Set right on the mountain, it’s a favourite spot to soak up the last of the sunshine and atmosphere before your final descent back to the resort.

Once in San Cassiano, the après-ski vibe is relaxed and refined. Whether you prefer the charm of a traditional pub or a more elegant setting with fine wines, crafted cocktails, crackling log fires and even the occasional VIP lounge, there's something for every taste.

Several of the hotels we feature also offer their own take on après-ski. Unwind with a drink at the hotel bar, help yourself to a complimentary snack buffet and experience the laid-back rhythm of Italian mountain life.

All our hotels in San Cassiano offer dedicated wellness areas, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. In particular, Hotel Diamant and Hotel Fanes stand out for their impressive spa facilities designed for ultimate relaxation.

Highlights include a 25-metre adults-only sky pool with panoramic views of the Dolomites, and a freestanding 360-degree rotating sauna in the garden, a real showstopper. Don’t miss the daily sauna shows, where a Saunameister uses towels and fans to circulate hot, scented air around the sauna, intensifying both the heat and the sensory experience. It’s a unique wellness ritual you’ve got to try.
