About Hotel Diamant

Hotel Diamant is one of the original hotels in San Cassiano and is proudly run by the Rudiferia family. It’s centrally located just 800 metres from the main lift, with a free shuttle running at set times. Step inside and you’ll feel instantly at home with its warm wooden interiors and welcoming alpine charm.

The hotel’s spa is perfect for post-ski relaxation, spread over two floors. Unwind in the Finnish and bio saunas, steam bath, indoor pool, whirlpool and tea lounge. There’s also a fitness room with panoramic views and a terrace for soaking up the winter sun. Massages and treatments are available for a local fee.

A focus on fresh, local ingredients is at the heart of the hotel’s cuisine. From breads sourced from nearby bakeries to regional cheeses, cold cuts and seasonal produce, everything is carefully chosen to reflect the flavours of South Tyrol.

  • Start your day with a generous hot and cold breakfast buffet at Hotel Diamant, served daily from 7.30am to 10am. Enjoy freshly cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled vegetables and warming porridge. You'll also find a wide selection of cold options including freshly baked breads from the local bakery, pastries, cereals, muesli, cold meats, cheeses and seasonal fruit.
  • From 3pm to 5pm, guests can enjoy free afternoon tea with cakes, fruit, cheeses, and the soup of the day - drinks payable locally.
  • Dinner is served in the Diamant Restaurant, where you’ll enjoy a four-course meal featuring a salad buffet and a choice of starters, mains, and desserts. The chef uses fresh local produce to create a mix of Ladin, Italian, and international dishes. Special evenings include a Ladino dinner, Tyrolean cheese tasting, dessert buffets, and a gala dinner with aperitivo.
  • The wine cellar holds over 160 labels – ask the staff for pairing suggestions.

Discover San Cassiano

San Cassiano is a delightful village in the Alta Badia area of the Dolomites, well positioned between La Villa and Cortina, and close to Armentarola, with its famous horse-drawn ski-lift! A stunning array of dramatic Dolomite peaks provides an unforgettable backdrop to the incredible 1,200km of varied skiing, which is easily accessible from the resort’s main Piz Sorega gondola.

San Cassiano has easy access to the legendary Sella Ronda circuit and wider Dolomiti Superski area, so you can enjoy venturing out towards the surrounding areas of the Val Gardena, Arabba, and Val di Fassa with a Dolomiti Superski lift pass.  The highlight of San Cassiano is definitely a trip to the ski run from Lagazuoi and through the hidden valley, there's also a good mix of slopes in the Alta Badia local area, from cruisy blues in Colfosco to challenging black runs in La Villa.

Things to do in San Cassiano

Tobogganing is fun for the whole family, take the Piz Sorega lift up to the Tru Liösa Foram sledge run and enjoy the thrill of whizzing down the mountain, through snowy the Alpine pastures.

Ski from hut to hut and sample some of the delicious dishes created by local chefs and learn about the stories behind them. Enquire with your representative or the tourist information for further details.

There are some incredible snowshoeing routes around San Cassiano where you can discover picture perfect views over Alta Badia. There are a variety of groomed and signposted routes which can easily be reached from San Cassiano or the nearby villages of La Villa and Covara, start your morning in San Cassiano and enjoy a scenic hike up to Pralongia, or take reach new heights and head towards the Fanes plateau.

About 3km from San Cassiano you'll find the cross country ski centre, with over 26 kilometers of trails for all abilities, through forests and Medows, shadowed by the snowy Dolomiti mountains.
