About Hotel Fanes

Hotel Fanes is one of the top luxury hotels in Val Badia, offering cosy alpine-style rooms, gourmet dining and panoramic views of the Dolomites. Its elevated, sunny location in San Cassiano makes it ideal for a relaxing mountain escape.

The extensive spa facilities include saunas, steam rooms, heated water beds, an indoor pool, and a rotating sky sauna suspended 9 metres high. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor sky pool, a brine bath and the newest addition, Elements Spa, offering breathtaking 360° mountain views.

Originally a farmhouse, the hotel blends tradition with modern alpine design. Spacious rooms feature warm interiors and modern comforts, with most offering spectacular mountain views.

If you are after a hotel with lovely spa facilities, the Hotel Fanes is an excellent choice. With an extensive indoor spa area with a variety of saunas and steam rooms, a relaxation room with heated water beds, and an indoor pool, there is plenty to keep you occupied. There is also an outdoor sky pool with panoramic views and a brine bath in the garden. Elements is the latest addition to the Fanes Spa World. It is a cylindrical sauna suspended nine meters above the ground which rotates by itself. Thanks to the sauna's large window it gives guests breath taking 360 degree view of the surrounding Dolomites.

Getting on and off the slopes each day couldn't be easier, the hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from the Piz Sorega lift.

Meals are equally as impressive, you can enjoy a tasty five course evening meal which features dishes from the South Tyrol - many of the ingredients are homegrown or produced in the Alta Badia area. The hotel has a fantastic wine menu, with wines from the South Tyrol and Italy. Be sure to speak to the sommelier for some good wine recommendations to go with your meal.

Natural loft suites sleep up to four people (extra bed is a double sofa bed) and are around 100m². These impressive suites have tea & coffee making facilities, fireplace, bath or shower and a Finnish sauna.

Discover San Cassiano

San Cassiano is a delightful village in the Alta Badia area of the Dolomites, well positioned between La Villa and Cortina, and close to Armentarola, with its famous horse-drawn ski-lift! A stunning array of dramatic Dolomite peaks provides an unforgettable backdrop to the incredible 1,200km of varied skiing, which is easily accessible from the resort’s main Piz Sorega gondola.

San Cassiano has easy access to the legendary Sella Ronda circuit and wider Dolomiti Superski area, so you can enjoy venturing out towards the surrounding areas of the Val Gardena, Arabba, and Val di Fassa with a Dolomiti Superski lift pass.  The highlight of San Cassiano is definitely a trip to the ski run from Lagazuoi and through the hidden valley, there's also a good mix of slopes in the Alta Badia local area, from cruisy blues in Colfosco to challenging black runs in La Villa.

Things to do in San Cassiano

Tobogganing is fun for the whole family, take the Piz Sorega lift up to the Tru Liösa Foram sledge run and enjoy the thrill of whizzing down the mountain, through snowy the Alpine pastures.

Ski from hut to hut and sample some of the delicious dishes created by local chefs and learn about the stories behind them. Enquire with your representative or the tourist information for further details.

There are some incredible snowshoeing routes around San Cassiano where you can discover picture perfect views over Alta Badia. There are a variety of groomed and signposted routes which can easily be reached from San Cassiano or the nearby villages of La Villa and Covara, start your morning in San Cassiano and enjoy a scenic hike up to Pralongia, or take reach new heights and head towards the Fanes plateau.

About 3km from San Cassiano you'll find the cross country ski centre, with over 26 kilometers of trails for all abilities, through forests and Medows, shadowed by the snowy Dolomiti mountains.
