Beginners skiing and snowboarding in La Villa

While there is limited skiing for beginners in the immediate area, it can be said that once you have spent a few days in ski school and mastered the basics, there there is a huge number of wide of blue runs as you head towards Corvara side of the ski area to stretch legs and enjoy. Best of all, this is off the main Sella circuit, so for the most part, a quiet area to practise all the new skills you have learnt.

Intermediate skiing and snowboarding in La Villa

Simply a paradise for intermediate skiers who can choose between just skiing the local area of Alta Badia or taking on the challenge of skiing the Sella Ronda from Corvara, either clockwise of anti clockwise where there is a host of satisfying red runs. If you do stay local, head towards La Crusc, one of the most pictured churches in the region, found at 2045 metres. On your way back down the mountain, be sure to stop in at Ütia L'Tamá for a drink or bite to eat.

Advanced skiing and snowboarding in La Villa

Confident skiers have a range of mountains to ski with just over 1220km piste on one pass. We recommend spending a day over towards Arabba where you will find the famous Marmolada glacier and steep runs to keep you occupied and challenged. We also have to mention the Hidden Valley found at the top of the Lagazuoi lift. Up there as one of the best runs we've ever experienced, it's definitely worth going to but be sure to get there early as can get busy.

Off piste and snow parks in La Villa

The local Alta Badia area has plenty of snow parks for all abilities. Moviment Snowpark located between the slopes "La Freina" and "Ciampai" is where you will find the with boardercross, rails and jumps to suit your level.

Discover La Villa

La Villa, a picturesque village in the heart of the Alta Badia region of the Dolomites, has long been a beloved destination for British skiers seeking the perfect alpine escape.

Nestled in the heart of Alta Badia, La Villa offers an ideal base for exploring the Sellaronda circuit. This charming village provides easy access to some of the most renowned slopes in the Dolomites, including seamless connections to Arabba, Selva, Val di Fassa, and the breath taking Marmolada glacier. The local ski area surrounding La Villa, along with nearby San Cassiano, features exceptional skiing opportunities set against a backdrop of stunning alpine scenery.

For skiers and snowboarders, La Villa is much more than just a convenient stop on the Sellaronda. The village offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity, with a variety of slopes to suit all levels. The nearby Gran Risa slope, famous for hosting Alpine Ski World Cup events, is a must-try for those seeking a challenge. From La Villa, you can effortlessly venture out to explore the broader Dolomiti Superski area, with its extensive network of well-groomed runs and state-of-the-art lift systems.

While skiing is the main attraction, La Villa also charms visitors with its quaint atmosphere, welcoming après-ski spots, and a rich cultural heritage. It’s a destination that promises not just great skiing, but also a memorable experience in one of Italy’s most beautiful mountain regions.

La Villa offers a charming selection of bars and restaurants that capture the essence of South Tyrolean hospitality. The village is home to a variety of dining options, ranging from casual pizzerias to more refined establishments. Restaurants like La Tor and La Bercia are well-loved for their blend of local Ladin and Italian cuisine, featuring dishes such as handmade pasta, hearty mountain stews, and regional specialties like speck and dumplings. Bar Tradizion, is a lovely spot to grab an Aperol spritz with tasty nibbles. These venues often combine rustic alpine décor with a cosy atmosphere, making them perfect spots for unwinding after a day on the slopes.

La Villa may not have a wild party scene, but it certainly delivers when it comes to relaxed, sociable après-ski. At the heart of the village is Paul’s Pub, a long-time favourite among locals and visitors alike. Known for its friendly vibe, good range of beers and cocktails, and regular live music, it’s the go-to spot for winding down, or warming up, for the evening. Whether you're after a chilled drink or a lively catch-up with friends, Paul's Pub ticks the box.

Just a short walk away, Glam’s offers a more contemporary setting, perfect for those after a well-made cocktail in a stylish space. It’s a great choice for a more upbeat but still low-key night out. For something a little different, Durni’s Pub provides a classic pub atmosphere with a relaxed crowd and good selection of drinks, ideal for a quiet evening or a casual pre-dinner drink.

If you're up for something memorable, Club Moritzino sits high above the resort at 2,100m and is reachable via the Piz La Ila gondola. This legendary venue starts the party early with DJ sets on the terrace and a lively après scene with incredible mountain views. It’s perfect for a celebratory drink in a spectacular setting before heading back down for dinner.

La Villa is the ideal destination for those seeking not only great skiing but also a peaceful place to unwind. The resort’s calm atmosphere and scenic surroundings make it perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes.

Two of the best places to switch off are Hotel La Villa and Hotel Ciasa Soleil. Hotel La Villa offers a charming wellness area with a Finnish sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and sensory shower, perfect for soothing tired legs in a cosy alpine setting. Meanwhile, Hotel Ciasa Soleil provides a more extensive spa experience, with an indoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the mountains, multiple saunas, steam bath, and an ice pool. With optional treatments and day spa packages available, it’s a great choice for those looking to fully indulge in a little après-ski relaxation.

La Villa provides a relaxed shopping experience that matches the resort’s traditional and welcoming atmosphere. While it’s not focused on large-scale retail, the village offers a good variety of sports shops, local food stores, and boutiques within easy reach.

Visitors can find everything they need for skiing, including clothing, accessories, and equipment rentals. There are also several places selling regional specialties, handmade crafts, and souvenirs, perfect for taking home a taste of the local culture.

With all the shops conveniently located close together, browsing is easy and enjoyable. For a wider range of options, neighbouring resorts offer additional shopping opportunities just a short journey away.
