The Three Lakes Walk

Möserer See Austria

Where: Seefled, Austria

Walking level: Moderate

Time: Allow 4 hours to complete this walk

The ‘Three Lakes Walk’ takes you past majestic views of the lakes: Möserer See, Lottensee, Wildmoossee.

Along the route you’ll trek through quiet woodlands, across peaks and along valley paths. After all that fresh mountain air we recommend stopping at the popular Wildmoosalm for a freshly baked strudel - washed down with a glass of schnapps, of course.

Olperhütte and Friesenberghaus

Mayrhofen Olpererhuette View Schlegeis Reservoir Copyright Manuel Daum

Where: Mayrhofen, Austria

Walking level: Moderate

Time: Between five and 7 hours.

This walk is a bit challenging but super rewarding. It covers about 16 kilometres with some steep sections, so plan for five to seven hours of walking fun. The highlight? The famous Olperer Bridge with jaw-dropping views of the Schlegeis Reservoir. Board the public bus to the Schlegeis Reservoir, but try not to get too engrossed by the captivating blue waters, as a steep and rocky ascent awaits you.

Don't forget your camera to capture all the incredible scenery. Follow the trail signs to the Olpererhütte, where you'll find delicious Kaiserschmarrn (yum!). After that, you'll venture past the famed Olperer bridge (a must for photo ops) and follow the signs to Friesenberghaus. The trail then slopes gently downhill all the way to the car park, where you can catch the bus back to Mayrhofen.

The Eiger Trail

Switzerland Grindlewald

Did you know that the Jungfrau region was an inspiration for Tolkien’s Middle Earth? Strolling through the picturesque landscapes of rushing waterfalls, fascinating rock formations and deep, woody forests it’s not hard to see why.
