Discover Ischgl
The choice is yours – ski hard or party hard. But if you can manage both, you’re in for a hectic, thrilling week! Ischgl is a pretty but also pulsating village just 90 minutes from Innsbruck with a fantastic snow-sure ski area.
Skiing and snowboarding in Ischgl’s ski area is aimed at intermediates and advanced skiers (but beginners will also feel perfectly at home here) and offers just as much off-piste as on-piste. Intriguingly, it’s linked with the duty-free Swiss enclave of Samnaun - in fact a large section of the terrain is actually in Switzerland.
Ischgl prides itself on its ultra-modern lift system, many of which are high-speed and even heated, giving easy access to more than 239km of pistes with a further 40km ski terrain in nearby Galtür. A major cable car has been added to its lift complex: the 18.5 million Euro Piz Val Gronda, which has hugely improved access to unpisted freeride terrain in the Fimbatal Valley. Also new is the 3 S Pardatschgratbahn from town, serving slopes with a vertical drop of 1,257m (4,124ft) – said to be the biggest vertical drop served by a triple-cable gondola in the world.
Ischgl's food scene offers everything from mountain‑top snack bars to Michelin‑level dining. Iconic mountain restaurants include Pardorama, perched in glass with jaw‑dropping views, and the stylish Alpenhaus VIP Lounge, featuring smart décor, open fires and refined menus.
On‑slope huts like Paznauner Taja combine hearty Tyrolean dishes with lively DJs for an unforgettable après‑ski vibe.
In town, gourmets flock to Paznaunerstube and Stüva for award‑winning creative fare, while Lucy Wang delivers upscale sushi with Alpine flair. For lighter meals, local pizzerias, pasta spots, and traditional inns serve regional classics in a relaxed atmosphere.
The après ski is renowned yet varied and the nightlife is positively urban in nature with a vast array of cafés, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Some top spots include Schatzi Bar, Kuhstall, Trofana Alm and Freeride, many with German music for that classic Austrian après.
Ischgl is known for its vibrant nightlife, with popular nightclubs like Fire & Ice and Pacha leading the scene. Fire & Ice is a trendy après ski club located in the heart of Ischgl. It offers a lively atmosphere with modern décor, great music, and a mix of rock, pop, and electronic beats. The club is known for its themed parties and international DJs, making it a hotspot for both locals and tourists. Pacha, situated in the Madlein Hotel, is part of the famous Pacha brand. This club features a stylish interior, VIP areas, and hosts renowned DJs, providing a high-energy environment perfect for dancing the night away.
The Silvretta Leisure Centre in Ischgl, also known as Silvretta Therme, is a luxurious spa and wellness facility located in the picturesque Paznaun valley. This modern complex offers a variety of amenities designed for relaxation and recreation. The centre features a panoramic pool landscape with multiple indoor and outdoor pools, including a rooftop pool with a bar, providing stunning mountain views. The extensive sauna area includes several types of saunas and steam baths, such as an Alpine rose steam bath and a herbal sauna. Guests can also enjoy professional massages and cryotherapy treatments.
