Beginner skiing in Ellmau

Wide open, gentle nursery slopes can be found close to the centre.

Intermediate skiing in Ellmau

Relatively inexperienced skiers and second timers will enjoy the extensive choice of blue runs between Ellmau and Söll. For red-runners there is a circuit of over 20 linked runs in the whole region, many leading directly back to the village.

Advanced skiing in Ellmau

There are a number of black runs for the skier who likes to be challenged; one of the best starts from the peak of the Hohe Salve through the Leukenwald area.

Discover Ellmau

The attractive village of Ellmau is situated between the rugged Wilder Kaiser (Wild Emperor) mountains and the more gentle Kitzbüheler Alps. Located between the villages of Going and Scheffau, Ellmau lies within the vast SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental Area which links several resorts enabling access to 270km of piste. 

Ellmau has wide and gentle nursery slopes which are close to the centre. A ski bus ride to the main lift will open the wider ski area with plenty of intermediate and more demanding runs. And to make your ski holiday even more enjoyable, a ten-seater gondola transports skiers to 1,530m in less than nine minutes, and all cabins have Wi-Fi and heated seats for ascent and descent. 

From cosy mountain huts to traditional Austrian eateries Ellmau has a little bit of everything on offer. Many establishments boast panoramic views of the snowy slopes, the perfect spot for an après cocktail.

You can enjoy regional specialties like schnitzel, Tiroler Gröstl, and Kaiserschmarrn at the traditional Rübezahl Alm mountain hut. For those seeking international cuisine, Memory Café & Bar offers options like pizza and burgers.

While Ellmau has a more relaxed après scene than some other Austrian resorts, the region still has the motto "snow, good times & music". You will find live bands and great bars perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes.
