About Cristal de l'Alpe Apartments

The Cristal de l'Alpe Apartments are conveniently located in the centre of Alpe d'Huez, making it easy to reach a wide selection of the area's shops and restaurants.

After a long day on the slopes, you can unwind in the wonderful wellness which features a pool, sauna and steam room.

Self catered apartments

The self catering apartments are tastefully designed with a mountain chalet theme, the interiors are modern and luxurious, and the apartments are equipped with everything needed for a relaxing week in the Alps. After a long day on the slopes, you can relax in the luxury of your home away from home, which have a cosy open plan living, dining room, and a well-equipped kitchenette. Each of the apartments also have a private balcony as well as a ski locker where you can store your equipment.

Sooth your achy ski legs in the residences wellness area which features a large heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Treat yourself to a treatment or massage for a little extra, it is the best way to unwind after a day on the slopes. If relaxing isn't for you, train for your next ski adventure in the fitness centre which has a range of equipment.

Apartments at the Cristal de l'Alpe have an excellent location in the centre of Alpe d'Huez. As you are only a short distance away from the slopes as well as the lifts, it is really easy for you to make your way up and down the mountain each day.  The nearest restaurants and shops are about 50 metres away, which is perfect as these apartments are on a self catering board basis.

The Cristal de l'Alpe Apartments are self catering apartments, meals are not included.

There is a mini market next to the residence, so you can stock up on the essentials. There is also a supermarket and shops selling traditional produce dotted around the resort. If you fancy trying to cook your own Savoyard dishes, raclette and fondue sets are available on request. There is also a bakery delivery service available which can be booked and paid for locally,

For the days you don't feel like cooking there is a selection of bars and restaurants a short walk away from the residence.

Alternatively, we've partnered up with Huski who provide premium oven ready meals across the French Alps. Huski will deliver your meals directly to your accommodation in time for your arrival, all you'll have to do is cook. If you'd like to know more, please click here for further details.

Huski can cater for special dietary requirements (vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free) on request. Allergies and intolerances not listed above cannot be catered for. One bedroom apartments sleep two to four people and are around 30m². These apartments have a double bedroom with a double bed, and a living room with a double sofa bed. 

One bedroom cabin apartments sleep four to six people and are around 40m². The apartments have a double bedroom, a living room with a double sofa bed, and a sleeping alcove with bunk beds suitable for children between 6-14 years old.

Two bedroom apartments sleep four to six people and are around 50m². The apartments have one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a living room with a double sofa bed.

Three bedroom apartments sleep six to eight people and are around 60m². The apartments have one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and a living room with a double sofa bed and an additional shower and WC. Some apartments may be duplex.

All occupants including babies count towards the maximum occupancy. Beds are made on arrival and one linen set with towels is included per person, per week. End of stay cleaning is included apart from the kitchen area.

The Cristal de l'Alpe Apartments have adapted apartments available on request, please give our Reservations team a call if you would like to book an adapted apartment. There are no steps into the property and the wheelchair accessible lift goes to all floors.

Your transfer to Alpe d'Huez will stop as close as possible to your chosen accommodation. In some cases there may be a couple of minutes' walk due to regulations on where coaches can stop.

Transfers may be longer during bad weather conditions or French school holidays. French school holidays span 20 Dec 25-05 Jan 26, 07 Feb-10 Mar 26 and 04-25 Apr 26.

Discover Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez is a lively ski resort and its position will make any skier or snowboarder happy. It has the double benefit of lying on high sunny plateau and being surrounded by an amazing snow bowl, with miles of varied and enjoyable runs and off piste opportunities.

Things to do in Alpe d'Huez

The open-air ice skating rink is located in the centre of town. The floodlit ice rink is open until late most days of the week, making it a perfect evening activity after a day on the slopes (pay locally).

Each year over thirty themed snow and ice sculptures are created for this unique art gallery. Located at the top of the DMC lift, you can have a break from skiing and marvel at the ice sculptures. Previous themes have included farm animals, fun fair and Egyptian mythology.

Take to new heights on the indoor climbing wall located at the Palais des Sports centre. There are thirteen climbing routes for you to climb, whether you are just starting out or have scaled the walls before, its a fun activity for the whole family. 

Speed down the snow covered slopes on a specially designed ice kart. Race your friends and family down the track either during the day in the Games sector or choose to race at night on the Roger slope.

Whizz around the snowy landscapes on a snowmobile. You can choose between a short ride around the luge area or go on a longer safari around the lower slopes of Alpe d'Huez. Booking is required for all of the trips, enquire with your Inghams representative for more information. Payable locally.

Throughout the season you can enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool with wonderful mountain views.  Alternatively the indoor swimming pool is located inside the Palais des Sports . Don't forget your speedos!

Parapente

Take to new altitudes and experience Alpe d'Huez from above, glide over the mountains with a qualified instructor and take in the amazing views from above.

Tobogganing

There are two sledging areas in resort, one under the DMC1 and one at the Les Bergers slopes. Night sledding is available Butte de l'Eclose slope throughout the winter. Sleds and helmets can be hired from most sports shops in resort.

If you have ever wanted to extend your ski day and ski under the stars,  you can hop on the last cable car up to Pic Blanc at 3000 metres - the highest point of Alpe d'Huez and enjoy a magical descent down. Throughout the winter season (February- March) night skiing is available Tuesday and Thursdays - weather permitting.  

If you're looking for adrenaline off the slopes then ice driving is for you. Located in the E'Close area of town, there is 820m of icy tracks which you can whizz around. Fear not, if you haven't driven in icy conditions before, tuition is available to guide you so you can become the next Vin Diesel in no time. Payable locally. 

ESF Snowshoe Hike

For those who want to experience the mountains on foot, why not try snowshoeing and discover the winter walking trails surrounding the resort. 

Alpine Coaster

Located in the Bergers area of Alpe d'Huez, you can enjoy a thrilling ride down the mountain coaster, with a number of twists and turns on the way down. Payable locally.
