About Residence Daria-I Nor

Residence Daria-I Nor is a five star residence that's in the centre of the l'Eclose District of Alpe d'Huez and there's direct access to ski lifts and endless skiing possibilities. The residence is cosy and luxurious, with each apartment being furnished to a high standard.

The spa area of the residence is the perfect place to wind down after a full day on the slopes, with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and fitness room. There is also a ski room located in the residence, allowing you to leave your equipment safely in private lockers with boot warmers which are individually assigned to each apartment.

The Residence Daria-I Nor has an excellent location in the L'Eclose area of Alpe d'Huez, giving you convenient ski in, ski out access to the Alpe Express gondola and the 250km of slopes in the area - perfect for keen skiers and boarders. The ideal location is only a short walk into the resort centre where there are a number of bars and restaurants, as well as the fabulous sport facilities including an ice rink and sports area - perfect for when its a bit too snowy to go skiing.

The Residence Daria-I Nor is offered on either a self catering board basis, with the option to upgrade to half board.

Self catering guests will not have any food or drink included with their stay, but you'll find there there are plenty of restaurants in the centre of Alpe d'Huez serving delicious dishes often influenced by the region and the local produce. If you'd prefer to prepare your own meals, there is a supermarket also located in the resort centre.

If you have upgraded to half board, you can enjoy a tasty breakfast served in the Hotel Daria-I Nor where you can enjoy a selection of sweet and savoury options. Bread and pastries are available and delivered to reception on request.

Dinner will be served in the residence onsite restaurant and bar - Restaurant La Table du Daria in the Hotel Daria-I-Nor, which serves traditional dishes inspired by the Savoyard region. Or if you would like to switch it up one evening, you can dine in the L'Améthyste restaurant - this gastronomic restaurant serves sophisticated and refined dishes and is the perfect option if you'd like to treat yourself and dine out.

Alternatively, we've partnered up with Huski who provide premium oven ready meals across the French Alps. Huski will deliver your meals directly to your accommodation in time for your arrival, all you'll have to do is cook. If you'd like to know more, please click here for further details.

Each of the apartments are well designed and spacious, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Alpe d'Huez. All of the apartments have spacious bedrooms, and with apartments sleeping up to six, they are a great choice for your next family ski holiday. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area is perfect for spending quality time together and every apartment has a balcony to appreciate the amazing views around you. Being in an apartment allows you to be flexible with your meals and being a minutes' walk from the resort centre provides you with so much choice. If you want to give local cuisine a go yourself, there's raclette, fondue and grill sets available to borrow for free at reception.

One bedroom apartments are around 35m² and sleep two people. The apartment has a double bedroom and a bathroom with a separate toilet

One bedroom and cabin apartments are 45m² and sleep two to four people. The apartment is composed of a double bedroom, a cabin with bunk beds, and a bathroom with a separate toilet.

Two bedroom apartments are 53m² and sleep four people. The apartment has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a bathroom and shower room with a separate toilet.

Two bedroom and cabin apartments are around 63m² and sleep six people. The apartment is composed of one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a cabin with bunk beds, one bathroom and shower room with two toilets

Please note that cabins can be open in the corridor and without window. Beds are made on arrival. One linen set with towels is provided per person, per week.

Discover Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez is a lively ski resort and its position will make any skier or snowboarder happy. It has the double benefit of lying on high sunny plateau and being surrounded by an amazing snow bowl, with miles of varied and enjoyable runs and off piste opportunities.

Things to do in Alpe d'Huez

The open-air ice skating rink is located in the centre of town. The floodlit ice rink is open until late most days of the week, making it a perfect evening activity after a day on the slopes (pay locally).

Each year over thirty themed snow and ice sculptures are created for this unique art gallery. Located at the top of the DMC lift, you can have a break from skiing and marvel at the ice sculptures. Previous themes have included farm animals, fun fair and Egyptian mythology.

Take to new heights on the indoor climbing wall located at the Palais des Sports centre. There are thirteen climbing routes for you to climb, whether you are just starting out or have scaled the walls before, its a fun activity for the whole family. 

Speed down the snow covered slopes on a specially designed ice kart. Race your friends and family down the track either during the day in the Games sector or choose to race at night on the Roger slope.

Whizz around the snowy landscapes on a snowmobile. You can choose between a short ride around the luge area or go on a longer safari around the lower slopes of Alpe d'Huez. Booking is required for all of the trips, enquire with your Inghams representative for more information. Payable locally.

Throughout the season you can enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool with wonderful mountain views.  Alternatively the indoor swimming pool is located inside the Palais des Sports . Don't forget your speedos!

Parapente

Take to new altitudes and experience Alpe d'Huez from above, glide over the mountains with a qualified instructor and take in the amazing views from above.

Tobogganing

There are two sledging areas in resort, one under the DMC1 and one at the Les Bergers slopes. Night sledding is available Butte de l'Eclose slope throughout the winter. Sleds and helmets can be hired from most sports shops in resort.

If you have ever wanted to extend your ski day and ski under the stars,  you can hop on the last cable car up to Pic Blanc at 3000 metres - the highest point of Alpe d'Huez and enjoy a magical descent down. Throughout the winter season (February- March) night skiing is available Tuesday and Thursdays - weather permitting.  

If you're looking for adrenaline off the slopes then ice driving is for you. Located in the E'Close area of town, there is 820m of icy tracks which you can whizz around. Fear not, if you haven't driven in icy conditions before, tuition is available to guide you so you can become the next Vin Diesel in no time. Payable locally. 

ESF Snowshoe Hike

For those who want to experience the mountains on foot, why not try snowshoeing and discover the winter walking trails surrounding the resort. 

Alpine Coaster

Located in the Bergers area of Alpe d'Huez, you can enjoy a thrilling ride down the mountain coaster, with a number of twists and turns on the way down. Payable locally.
