Discover Voss

Voss is one of the largest ski resorts in Western Norway and is located just 100 kilometres from Bergen. Voss is loved for its lively local culture, cosy hotels and delicious Norwegian food. The breath-taking mountain views and nearby fjords make it a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts all year round.

Voss is known to have Norway's best skiing terrain with 40 kilometres of groomed alpine trails and 24 varied descents, including an international giant slalom course and a SuperG course. The ski area offers a fantastic range of terrain for both beginners and advanced skiers and boarders. Intermediates however have the best span available to them, with lots of slopes to master and improve their skills. There is also a range of manageable powder slopes that are perfect for learning basic off-piste skiing.

Boarders aren't forgotten about here, with a big jump, half pipe and boardercross easily accessible in the resorts snow park. The powder fields here are also excellent for freeriding. Due to the shorter daylight hours, night skiing is easily available in Voss. Evening skiing takes place three nights a week, and there are more than 10 kilometres of floodlit trails for all levels.

Head up the Voss gondola and enjoy panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the resort.  It is the starting point for ski routes, however, if you don't ski and are meeting friends and family for lunch then the Hangurstoppen restaurant at the top is a great meeting place.

For an afternoon off of the slopes head to the indoor swimming pool. There are three different pools; a 25 metre long exercise pool with swimming lanes, an obstacle course on the weekends, a dive pool and a third pool heated to 32 degrees. There's also a sauna and waterslide.

Entertain the whole family at the Voss Bowling. Challenge your friends and family to a game of bowling, play a game of pool or darts, there's even a variety of board games.

Thursdays (day trip)

Norway is known for its stunning scenery and dramatic fjords and we’d recommend visiting these during your stay. This fantastic day trip allows you to experience both, taking you on a cruise down one of Norway's most iconic fjords, followed by a trip on the Flåm Railway – voted as one of the most scenic train routes in the world. Your day will start with a bus trip from Voss to Gudvangen. Here you’ll jump on one of the electric cruise ships, holding up to 400 people, and slowly make your way down the Nærøyfjord towards the small town of Flåm. The boat trip takes roughly 2 hours, and you’ll be able to soak in all the views, take pictures of the steep mountains and grab a bite to eat from the onboard café. Once docked up in Flåm, you’ll then hop on the Flåm Train for your trip to Myrdal. Both sides of the train offer fantastic views of snow-capped mountains, frozen waterfalls and deep valleys - you’ll even pass through the mountains in the many man-made tunnels. The train ride to Myrdal takes roughly 45 minutes, and once you arrive, you’ll head back to your resort on a train from Myrdal to Voss.
