Relax & rejuvenate

Soak up the sun on the fantastic terrace after a long day skiing the large Portes du Soleil ski area, with incredible views of the surrounding mountains, it is the ideal spot to relax. Later in the evening, you can enjoy a drink in the cosy bar after dinner or enjoy the entertainment provided.

The residence features a lovely adults only wellness area, it is the perfect place to have a moment of relaxation after a day of exploring the slopes. Soak away any aches or pains in the sauna or hammam, or treat yourself to a massage or treatment which also includes access to the relaxation pools. If relaxing in the wellness area isn't for you, train for your next ski adventure in the fitness room.

Avoriaz is the perfect resort for families, it is a pedestrianised resort, where you get around on horse-drawn sleighs rather than cars or buses. The Hotel Les Cimes du Soleil features ski-in, ski-out accommodation making it incredibly easy to get onto the slopes each day. Children are catered for with the dedicated children areas, while the more experienced skiers and boarders can enjoy the cruisy blues and red runs throughout the area.

  • Avoriaz is traffic free and all transfers from the airport or the railway station arrive at the Welcome Centre. From here, our local team organise the snowcats that transfer guests and luggage to their accommodation.

The Hotel Les Cimes du Soleil is offered on an all inclusive board basis, each day you can enjoy varied cuisine served buffet style. Included meals start with dinner on the first evening and end with breakfast on the last morning. 

  • Fuel up for the day at the breakfast buffet which includes a variety of sweet and savoury options, as well as additional hot items. If you are feeling a bit peckish after skiing, sweet treats and light snacks are available.
  • Lunch can either be buffet, with salads, hot dishes, cheese and desserts, or a picnic option can be requested at a supplement.
  • Après ski snacks include pancakes, sweets, chocolate fountains and mulled wine.
  • Dinner is served buffet style, and includes a variety of salads, hot and cold dishes, cheese, and desserts. There is also a show kitchen, so you can watch the chefs in action. You can also enjoy dinner at the restaurant 'Le Cedre Rouge' on one of the evenings, which specialises in Savoyard cuisine. If you would like to have dinner at this restaurant, please make a reservation at the reception desk upon your arrival as it is reservation-only.
  • If you fancy trying Savoyard specialities such as fondue, raclette or tartelette, you can reserve a table in the Le Cèdre Rouge restaurant, which is included on one night of your stay. 
  • Christmas eve and New Years eve gala dinners are included. 

Drinks

The bar is open 7 days a week and the opening times are 10am to midnight. After the bar closes, there's a coffee/tea/water self service station until the breakfast buffet service starts at 7am.

Drinks at the bar include beers, cocktails, soft drinks, wine by the glass and hot drinks. Premium bottled beer, premium spirits/cocktails and bottles of wine are not included but can be purchased locally (card only).

Classic panoramic view twin bedrooms sleep two people and are 16-19m². They have a twin bed and incredible views across the resort and surrounding mountains.

Classic panoramic view triple bedrooms sleep three people and are 20-25m². These rooms have twin beds, and an additional daybed for the third person, plus incredible views across the resort and surrounding mountains. Please note that a twin room may be allocated if only occupied by two people.

Premium view two bedrooms sleep up to five people and are 20-25m². There's one twin or double bedroom, then another room with bunk beds and a single bed, with mountain or forest views. Please note that the top bunk bed is not suitable for children under 6 years old.

Discover Avoriaz

The purpose built, snow sure resort of Avoriaz is the highest in the Portes du Soleil. appealing to skiers and boarders of all abilities with slopes such as the best blue run in the area, Abricotine, and Coupe du Monde being the best black run with great views.

Once you are on the mountain, the Stash snow park provides fun for the whole family, found between the trees in a reforestation zone. It's made up of different ability level snow parks built with dead untreated wood which has been collected locally, so it blends into the landscape. There's a wide choice of shops, restaurants and bars dotted around the resort, many of which serve local ingredients and French-origin products and most buildings are designed to conserve heat, and with the use of solar panels generate energy too.

Things to do in Avoriaz

Aquariaz swimming pool feels like a tropical haven, a thousand miles away from the Bahamas. The leisure centre has several different swimming areas including an indoor river, a sidewinder and themed children's area. It is the perfect place to spend an afternoon when it is just to snowy to go skiing.

Discover the coolest dining experience in Avoriaz, the Village Igloo. A unique ice grotto, bar, restaurant and mini hotel in Avoriaz, where can enjoy a traditional Savoyard meal in a spectacular setting.  Apart from having dinner in the igloo, the bar is open throughout the winter season, as is the hotel. It really is an unforgettable experience for everyone. Book and pay locally.

Acting as the taxi service in Avoriaz, there are plenty of horse-drawn sleighs around the town, and grabbing a trip from one end of Avoriaz to another is great fun for everyone of all ages! Pay locally.

There is a small ice rink in the middle of Avoriaz, lit up at night and you can hire your skates locally. This is a fantastic child-friendly activity that can be enjoyed even after the pistes close for the day. Pay locally. 

There is a two-lane bowling alley and arcade located in a subterranean complex on Place des Dromonts. It’s hard to miss the big ‘bowling’ sign out the front. Pay locally. 

Located in the centre of Avoriaz near the tourism office and ice skating rink, the small cinema has two screens and shows all of the national releases. Please note that some films will be voice dubbed in French. Pay locally.

For the thrill seekers out there, paragliding (or parapenting as the French say) is available in both Avoriaz and Morzine throughout the ski season for those who dare. 

You can take a guided ramble through the beautiful Alpine landscape with a pair of snowshoes. This relaxing activity is the perfect way to step back and enjoy a slower pace of things, explore the forests, spotting animals and breathing the fresh mountain air. There are even evening snowshoe walks to be enjoyed, so talk to your Inghams rep in resort if you fancy taking the mountains in at a different pace.
