About The Obertauern Places Hotel

A newly refurbished hotel on the scene in Obertauern for this season, The Obertauern Places Hotel brings a sleek, fun presence to the resort. You will be located close to the resort centre with access the incredible skiing Obertauern has to offer.

The hotel has a vibrant, modern feel throughout and the 'Places LoungeBar' is the perfect spot to grab a drink with friends after a day on the slopes. If you want to enjoy epic views of the Alps, the hotel's rooftop bar has a relaxed atmosphere with music most evenings and a great selection of craft beers.

The chill out areas don't end with lounges and bars, Places Hotel has something for everyone. There is an on-site movie theatre, multimedia gaming lounge, old skool game lounge, and a soft play zone for kids.

The hotel hosts occasional musical line-ups and DJ sessions throughout the season, so whether you are a fan of good music, or want to chill out playing board games with friends, there is a place for that.

An impressive spa area is the cherry on top, with an 80m2 freshwater indoor pool, whirlpool zone, multiple saunas and relaxation area with a fireplace and vitality bar. You can also use the outdoor Finnish sauna or try out the 24/7 gym.

Obertauern has the best snow in Salzburgerland and is suitable for all levels and mixed ability groups. There’s a well linked circuit, almost entirely above the treeline on both sides of the Tauern pass valley, surrounded by the spectacular peaks of the Radstädter Tauern. Obertauern itself offers 100km of high altitude slopes while nearby Mauterndorf adds a further 50km of slopes. A free 20 minutes ski bus ride connects the two resorts.

Swap your skis for a snow bike and enjoy whizzing down the pistes. Snow biking uses a specially adapted bike fitted with skis in place of wheels, letting you glide smoothly down snowy slopes. It’s a fun and easy-to-learn activity. The Schischule Koch provides courses, guided tours, and a unique moonlight tour. Book and pay locally.

Experience skiing under the stars on the illuminated Edelweissbahn slope. Every Monday and Thursday from 7pm till 10pm, you can enjoy the stunning night views of Obertauern as you descend the 1.5km floodlit slopes. All lift tickets from the Obertauern and Lungo-Skipool that are valid for minimum of 1 ½ days can be used.
