About Hotel Steiner

The Hotel Steiner is deservedly popular with Inghams guests for its large leisure area and excellent reputation for service and cuisine.

Run by the friendly Steiner family, you will be made to feel most welcome here. The hotel has a superb location two minutes' walk from the centre of Obertauern and slopes just across the road.

The Hotel Steiner has recently invested in a new adults-only spa area. The wellness area is complete with a rooftop infinity pool, Finnish sauna, organic sauna, Roman tepidarium, steam bath, rock crystal grotto and relaxation area.

The Steiner family pride themselves on being a family-friendly hotel run by a family. While parents can spend some time relaxing in the spa area, kids can explore the play room and games room.

The youth lounge has a climbing wall, games consoles, air hockey, and table football. New for this season, the indoor forest playground has a wood workshop, indoor mud room, and painting studio.

Obertauern has the best snow in Salzburgerland and is suitable for all levels and mixed ability groups. There’s a well linked circuit, almost entirely above the treeline on both sides of the Tauern pass valley, surrounded by the spectacular peaks of the Radstädter Tauern. Obertauern itself offers 100km of high altitude slopes while nearby Mauterndorf adds a further 50km of slopes. A free 20 minutes ski bus ride connects the two resorts.

Swap your skis for a snow bike and enjoy whizzing down the pistes. Snow biking uses a specially adapted bike fitted with skis in place of wheels, letting you glide smoothly down snowy slopes. It’s a fun and easy-to-learn activity. The Schischule Koch provides courses, guided tours, and a unique moonlight tour. Book and pay locally.

Experience skiing under the stars on the illuminated Edelweissbahn slope. Every Monday and Thursday from 7pm till 10pm, you can enjoy the stunning night views of Obertauern as you descend the 1.5km floodlit slopes. All lift tickets from the Obertauern and Lungo-Skipool that are valid for minimum of 1 ½ days can be used.
