Information on ski carriage
If you have your own equipment you will need to pre-book ski carriage. We strongly recommend pre-booking ski carriage as early as possible to ensure your space is reserved. With a limited allocation on each flight, ski carriage is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid disappointment, it’s best to confirm your ski carriage at the time of booking your holiday.
How to book
Your ski and snowboard carriage can be added onto your holiday at the time of booking:
- When booking online, the option of ski carriage, if available, will be shown in the ‘Transport’ section of the booking menu. If ski carriage is already included in the price of the flight, this will be shown on the flight selection.
- When booking by phone simply ask our reservations team to see if ski carriage is available to book.
Ski carriage on charter flights
- Inghams have chartered airlines to fly several routes to the mountains this winter. On our chartered flights we offer a standard charge per set of skis/snowboard for return ski carriage.
- Book ski carriage on an Inghams charter flight and if for any reason your skis don’t make the flight, we’ll ensure you’re provided with FREE equipment rental in resort, until your skis are delivered to you.
Ski carriage on low cost and scheduled flights
- In addition to our chartered flights, we can also offer seats on selected low cost and scheduled flights using airlines such as EasyJet and British Airways. Low cost and scheduled airlines charge separately for outbound and inbound ski carriage, and prices vary depending on the airline.
- To book ski carriage on a low cost or scheduled flight, call the airline directly. The airline will confirm ski carriage charges directly with you.

FREE ski carriage with Swiss International Airlines
- Switzerland is often viewed as an expensive ski destination but the country represents excellent value for money. Fly to Switzerland on a Swiss International Airlines scheduled flight and your ski/board carriage is included for FREE. Just one of many reasons to ski in Switzerland this winter.

Buying skis in resort
- A pair of skis, or a snowboard, can be a great ski holiday souvenir. And the mountain is the best place to test your skis and snowboard before you buy.
- If you plan buying your own skis this winter, we strongly recommend making arrangements for ski and snowboard carriage before you go on holiday. With an Inghams charter flight we can only book ski carriage for both your outbound and inbound flight, you cannot book ski carriage one-way. Ski carriage for your return will not be available at check-in on your return.
- Scheduled and low cost airlines may have availability for skis on your return journey. It is best to confirm with your airline before you travel.

Insurance for ski carriage
- We advise you make sure your ski/travel insurance policy covers your ski carriage arrangements. Neither Inghams nor the airline can accept liability for non-delivery or damage to any item transported as a part of your ski carriage.
- Inghams will provide free ski hire in the event of your skis not arriving at the destination airport when you have pre-booked ski carriage on an Inghams charter flight. Free ski hire will be provided for the duration of your holiday or until your skis are delivered to you in resort – whichever happens sooner.
- Your ski extras are bound by Inghams terms and conditions. The ski extra service is provided by a third party supplier and does not form part of your holiday package.

EssentialsSki essentials FAQ's
Some resorts have free lifts for beginners, but these are very short, slow lifts scattered across the base of the mountain and only access green runs. If you want to advance beyond the beginner lifts, you will need a lift pass.
If this is your first time, we advise you not to spent lots of money on brand new equipment. Amongst many reasons, as a beginner you might not fully know whether you’ll prefer skiing or snowboarding, and then you don’t want lots of non-returnable equipment on your hands! It is cheaper, easier and just as fun to rent your equipment in the resort and hand it back at the end of your trip.
You can rent skis, boots and poles for skiers. Boots and snowboards for snowboarders. Helmets are also available to rent and we recommend our guests to take this opportunity. There are three different grades of adult skis/boards available to rent: Blue, Red and Black, as explained in our guide. Check with your insurance policies before you rent the most expensive equipment there is (Black). All is explained in our handy Quick Guide: Ski and snowboard equipment explained (coming soon!).
You can add a ski carriage at time of booking. Booking in advance will help you secure the best possible price. On some flights, ski carriage is limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible. If you are travelling on one of our Jet2 charter flights, you can book ski carriage directly with Jet2 via their website. You will be asked for your Inghams reference number so make sure you have this to hand before booking. It’s important to note that ski carriage will be slightly more expensive when booking via Jet2 and it can only be done 7 days after your booking is confirmed by Inghams.
