There's a few options for you to choose from on this interesting trip to Berchtesgaden. Spend the day discovering the pretty Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden itself, or choose one of the optional extras that you can add on to your day (difference payable locally).

The most famous is the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest). Explore the historic building and surrounding area, with spectacular views on a clear day over the King's Lake. The house is famous for being Nazi-constructed and was used for government and social meetings by Hitler and the Nazi Party. Alternatively, head underground to see the Salt Mines. A network of tunnels and slides take you on an underground adventure discovering this once very important industry (optional add-ons are payable locally - Eagle's Nest approx. €31.90 per person, Salt Mines approx. €25.50 per person).

Covering 20,000 square metres the alpine garden on the Horn mountain in Kitzbühel is home to over 400 species of plant. Blooming all throughout the season the mix of mountain air and flower scents bring a fresh atmosphere to your picturesque walk. Have your camera at the ready as you might spot the famous Edelweiss flower of Austria.

With over 1,000 kilometres of biking routes, the Kitzbüheler Alps is one of the largest mountain biking and E-biking regions in the world. With the use of electric power, you can discover even more scenic meadows and riverside paths than before. It's a fantastic way to reach viewpoints and challenge yourself to tougher bike climbs. For mountain biking, you can make use of the lifts before your thrilling descent.

E-bikes can be rented locally from multiple places in town, and there's charging stations dotted around the mountains. Popular E-bike routes include the path from Kitzbühel to St. Johann via the Roman Trail, continuing through the Großachental valley to Erpfendorf; the beautiful loop around Pillersee Lake; the Tyrolean farms of the Bichlach region, and the lovely hour-long ride to Westendorf.

Grab your golf club and head for one of the four courses Kitzbühel has to offer. Experience 54 selective holes within a short distance, a golfer's paradise!
