Discover Oberau

Wild and beautiful – hence the name of one of the Tyrol’s loveliest and most unspoilt valleys. Even though Innsbruck is just under two hours away it could be a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The village is dominated by the view of the 250 year old church baroque church against the backdrop of the mountains. The church is often called the 'Cathedral' due to its size. This charming village is the ideal place for skiers just starting out on the slopes, or for improvers looking to hone their craft.

The neighbouring village of Niederau is just three kilometres away and is easily accessible by free ski bus service. Auffach, at the end of the valley, has some more challenging slopes and is now linked with Alpbach’s ski area to form the Ski Juwel Area.

In recent seasons, the Wildschönau has won awards for ‘Best Family Ski Area’ and ‘Friendliest Staff’, as well as one for excellent piste preparation.
