About Hotel Strass

The interconnected Sporthotel & Hotel Strass are two of the most popular hotels in Mayrhofen. Benefitting from an unbeatable location next to the main Penkenbahn lift in the heart of Mayrhofen's bustling centre.

The hotel has a selection of lively in-house bars to choose from, including the Ice Bar, lounge with front of house terrace, and the adjacent Arena nightclub.

The shared facilities are excellent and include three indoor pools, a multi-floor spa centre, sizeable games room with pool and table tennis tables and children’s playroom.

The 2,000m² spa area features multiple types of sauna, an infrared cabin, steam room, inhalation grotto, multiple whirlpools, Kneipp pool, brine bath and various beauty and massage treatments. After a day on the slopes unwind in the fully-kitted out gym overlooking the town.

New for winter 2025 the Hotel Strass is available on bed & breakfast or you can upgrade to half board basis. On half board upgrade you can look forward to a three course dinner with a mixture of traditional Austrian and international cuisine.

On bed & breakfast basis you are located right in the centre of Mayrhofen so you have plenty of restaurants right on your doorstep. The Hotel Strass has two new on site restaurants for this winter, one offering Italian classics like pasta and pizza and one offering Asian fusion dining.

With over 500 km of slopes across four ski areas and the Hintertux glacier, all connected by free bus or train, there's plenty to explore in Mayrhofen. The four areas cover Hochzillertal-Hochfügen-Spieljoch, Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofner Bergbahnen, and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000 and are all accessible on your Zillertal Superski Pass. Discover

If you’re looking for a rustic traditional village with modern lifts and access to the largest ski area in Austria, then Mayrhofen is the place for you. There is a long stretch of bars, restaurants and shops so you will find plenty to explore.

On the famous Zillertal Ski Area you’ll have 548km of varied pistes. Be sure to explore Hintertux glacier, we can’t get enough of the powder skiing and sweeping views. You’re above the clouds here meaning you’ll avoid any poor weather further down the mountain. You can also try Austria’s steepest run at a 78% gradient, the Hara Kiri. There is plenty for beginners too, with learning areas, quality teaching and cruisy blue runs.

Mayrhofen is a heavyweight resort for skiers, boarders and freestylers. If you’re a freestyler you won’t want to miss a chance to practice your tricks one of Europe’s largest snow parks, the Penken park. You’ll find it on the sunny side of the Hornberg mountain – split into six separate areas, it even has its own chairlift.

Visitors can enjoy three custom-built escape rooms with unique themes and puzzles, a large laser tag area based on the story of the "Woldschnoggn - Forest Goblin," and a 12-hole adventure golf course where each hole tells a legendary story.
