Discover Livigno

Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself as now confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why. Not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.

The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficient and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.

More about Livigno

Things to do in Livigno

Livigno has a wide variety of restaurants and cafes to choose from, all specialising in a range of dishes. Valtellina is one of the top restaurants in resort and offers classic Mediterranean cuisine. Discover some of the flavours of the Italian Alps prepared with high quality ingredients. Ristorante Alegra is located at the foot of Carosello 3000 mountain and offers a range of tasty meat dishes including steak. This restaurant has a friendly, comfy atmosphere and uses local fresh products. Goloseria Galli is a café serving some of the best pastries in resort. You'll also find every type of chocolate in here and you can even try some homemade ice cream.

Livigno is known for being a lively resort in terms of après ski, so if that's what you're looking for, you're in luck. There are a handful of bars and pubs to visit after a day on the slopes for an after ski beer - the Ice Bar on the central base-area slopes is a firm favourite with an Austrian style après ski scene. However, it is the nightlife that is the liveliest with people dancing until the early hours of the morning. The village is split out across the valley with venues being dotted all around, so although the general ambience may seem relaxed, don't worry because there are many places to go out and have some fun.

If you're looking to sit back and relax, spend a day away from the slope doing something different, or take the children somewhere that'll keep them entertained, we'd highly recommend taking a trip to the Aquagranda Spa. The indoor pool area features waterslides, hydro massages and water games for both adults and children. The Wellness & Relax area features a high-altitude spa where you can enjoy a sauna, Turkish bath, massages and beauty treatments. It even has an Olympic training centre with indoor and outdoor sports facilities. There truly is something for everyone.

Shoppers can take advantage of the traffic-free streets in the centre of the resort. Not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, but the resort has held a duty-free status since the 16th century, meaning your money goes much further.

There are over 250 shops across resort, from luxurious boutiques selling jewellery and perfumes, tech stores, perfume stores and clothes stores. You'll also find souvenir shops, sports shops selling ski and snowboard equipment and bakeries/grocery stores selling some of the local produce like cheese and wine.

Husky sledding is an incredibly unique activity and one we recommend doing if you have the chance. Drive a sleigh pulled by a pack of huskies through the untouched snowy trails of the resort. Or sit back and relax in the sleigh and take in the incredible scenery as you whizz past the mountain peaks.

Ice Karting is a great way to have fun off the slopes and is a great activity to do with friends and family. Compete against each other to be the fastest person round the 400 metre track and put yourself to the test.

You can really experience the resort along simple trails when snowshoeing. Entering the woods, follow the green and fuchsia fluorescent snowshoe poles and take the opportunity to connect with nature and the silence of the mountains.

Suitable for the whole family, take an afternoon off and have some fun at the Livigno ice rink. Once you've skated your way around the rink and have perfected those skills, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate in the heated grandstand rink view point.
