Beginners skiing and snowboarding in Courchevel

Courchevel 1850 is the best place for beginners to learn to ski or snowboard. There are a number of 'Zen Areas' throughout the resort which feature a concentration of gentle green and blue runs, perfect for practicing your turns and techniques.  There are four Zen areas within the Courchevel ski area: in 1850 you have the Golf Zen area next to the Jardin bubble with two magic carpets and the Pralong Zen area next to the Altiport lifts. In Courchevel Moriond you have the sectioned off area next to the free Mickey lift and the Envolée Zen the foot of the cable cars in Le Praz.

Novices will find easy blues throughout the resort to suit gentle progression and the excellent ski schools in both villages are blessed with a high proportion of English speaking instructors.

Intermediate skiing and snowboarding in Courchevel

As you would imagine in such an enormous ski area as the Three Valleys, the opportunities are virtually endless, with an excellent mix of high altitude and tree line skiing. Try the excellent reds down into the Creux valley and the numerous, less crowded pistes of 1650 including the Grandes Bosses run a sunny wide red run down into Moriond. Alternately head down the Combe de la Saulire piste, a top rated ski run, for a bit more of a challenge and views of Mont Blanc on a clear day.

Advanced skiing and snowboarding in Courchevel

Advanced skiers will enjoy carving down the numerous black runs in the Three Valleys. If you fancy a real challenge have a go at the famous un-groomed 'Face' slope which was created for the 1992 women's Albertville Olympic downhill competition. If high speed skiing isn't for you, some of the best off-piste skiing can be found on The Grand Couloir at the top of the Saulire or the descents from the summit of the Creux Noirs or Chanrossa chairlifts.

Off-piste and freeride in Courchevel

There is a vast amount of off piste areas around Courchevel. Make the most of fresh powder in The Grand Couloir, an ungroomed black run or head further afield to La Tania where you can find runs through the trees, it is best to get here early as it does get skied quickly especially on a powder day. More experienced skiers and borders can enjoy the more extreme terrain in the back country. We would recommend hiring a guide to show you the best spots, ask your Inghams representative for further information.

For the freestylers, your ski pass gives you access to the snow parks across the ski area. The Family Park in Courchevel has a variety of different level kickers, boxes and pipes. There is also the airbag to test out new tricks. You can also find the DC Area 43 and Elements Park in Meribel, both of which have a variety of boarder cross sections, kickers, rails and half pipes for a range of different levels.
